Come out and join our first ever, Kid’s Natural Building Summer Camp!
In this week-long course, children will work together to co-build a Cob Oven (aka: clay pizza oven) and then actually cook a wood-fired meal in it afterwards! These little builders will spend the day outdoors, learning and playing, mixing mud with their bare feet, playing in our mud kitchen, and building and laughing together. Team building and helping one another out will be part of our daily work. We will learn about building with the natural resources which exist around us and bing good stewards of the land. Students will practice simple natural building skills which are age-appropriate tasks. Beware….your child WILL get muddy!
This course will be led by April Magill, Architect & Executive Director of the Root Down Building Collective and Amber Simons, Director of Unbound Earth School (we will also have one additional care-giver; 3 instructors total). This is our first kid’s summer camp, and we look forward to offering more camps in more locations across SC in the years to come!
